HORSE BANDAGES
If you have to bandage your horse's leg through injury, bandage the other leg as well as support for your horse probably putting more weight on it due to the other being injured.
To roll a bandage efficiently and tightly, roll it down your thigh from the tape end. This maintains the pressure on the rolled bandage. Keep the tapes to the inside so that they will be on the right side when you come to bandage your horse.
Knot the end of your horse's tail up when you are bandaging your horse's hind legs, to keep it out of the way and save time by having less interference.
Do not clean your horse's muddy legs with warm water as it can cause infection as the pores open. Instead, bandage clean straw to the legs, let the mud dry then brush the mud off and use cold water at that point to complete any cleaning if necessary.
To keep your horse's tail clean and in good condition en route to shows, use bandage to fasten an old pair of tights over the docked tail.
