HORSE HOOF
Your horse's hooves need picking out before and after every piece of exercise and otherwise at least daily, if not more, to reduce the risk of infection. It also gives you the opportunity to see any shoe problems.
Hair conditioner that is well rubbed in will help create a shine on your horse's hooves.
Stand the brush you use for hoof oil in a jam jar with a hole in its lid for the brush handle. The oil can stand in the jar and the brush handle will stay fairly clean.
An old holder for a syringe is good for keeping your hoof pick in, to keep it clean. See if your vet has one going spare.
Tie coloured twine to your hoof pick to help it avoid being lost. An alternative is to tie the hoof pick to a bucket with a long piece of string, which avoids losing it and the bucket can be used to dispose of the debris from the hoof as well.
